Yesterday was a bad day for the hands. After running  around  in the morning   I went back to check  on the horses and move the boys over to the big pasture.  I noticed that Ruby had a bit of discharge form her ear and though it best if she see a vet. The up side of seeing the vet is that they are around to corner just across form my father.

My Dad and I got the trailer ready to move Ruby and Went over to the Tilson road to pick her up.  All seemed to be going well until  am motor cyclist  went flying past  while she was being loaded.  This spooked Ruby and caused her to pull away. I tried to hold on not wanting her to run out in the road but the burn caused by te rope was to much and I had to let go.  I would spend the next few hours with running water going over my hands.

The Vet will be coming to Ruby today.

Well today was a busy day but in the best way it can be. the day started with morning chores dogs and horses. once chores where done I went to readfield in search of rabbit cages and fence posts. I know those items would just seem not to go together but non the less I found what I was after. When I got back form my trek I hoped on the tractor and racked to fields of hay. The racking was done by lunch and that gave me some down time. After lunch I checked on the pigs and gave them a bit of water.

My uncle asked me to move a pile of boards for him as I had noting else to do at that time. For those that do not know I have issues with snakes near phobic issues. I was out running once and nearly came down on a snake…nearly meaning some how I went straight up and danced around like a little girl. Well today while moving that pile of wood I came across a nest of snakes and they where not little one I think little would have been better. I danced around again like a little girl but once I regained myself I finished the job.

Lastly I walked the fence on the field across form Wards so I can move the horses there tomorrow. and finished the day the way it started with dogs and horses. Oh and I have found a Jr. Blue otter doe so with any luck in a few months I will be raisiing rabbits again.

This adventure started some time ago but I have just set down to chronicle the events. At the the end of June, Helen and I made up our minds to move to Maine. The move was one we knew we wold make more a mater of when not if so we figured now was as good as any time.  The hope was/is to live life at a little slower pace and enjoy our Animals. We currently have two fish, two cats, two dogs, five horses and a rabbit on the way.  Yes that is alot of animals but the hope is to have a little farm that we can share with our friends and family. We just want a life that we can manage and support ourself.
